FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(New Haven, CT) — In January, Retreat Behavioral Health opened its third residential inpatient facility in New Haven, CT, with a passion for offering high-quality, holistic treatment for both mental health and substance abuse to this community in great need. As a member of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, Retreat remains dedicated to integrating themselves in the health and greater advancement of the local community.

Jacqueline James [MSW], the Director of Public Relations for Retreat in Connecticut, was recently appointed to the Health and Life Science Council of the Greater New Haven Chamber. Heavily involved in the community, with years and accolades in local public service, James believes that her voice will be a strong addition to the board, especially when it comes to advocating for mental health and substance abuse.

“I have dedicated my life to serving the community. I truly believe that we at Retreat can serve as an asset to New Haven and as an advocate for these ever-present issues, I hope to raise some much-needed awareness. I am very excited for this opportunity and look forward to all that our partnership can become,” said Jacqueline James, in a statement.

“The road to opening our New Haven facility, was not an easy one,” shares Retreat’s CEO and President, Peter Schorr. “It took a lengthy period of time and an incredibly dedicated team to establish what we have built. Our hope is to become an integral member of this community by offering hope, resources, and the highest quality treatment so that people can achieve a life of healing.”

The Greater New Haven Chamber works to be an advocate for local business, a valuable resource for its members, a venue for connections, and a strong promoter of economic growth that is both inclusive and collaborative. The GNHCC is composed of 15 municipalities: Bethany, Branford, Cheshire, East Haven, Guilford, Hamden, Madison, Milford, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, Orange, Wallingford, West Haven, and Woodbridge.

By establishing stronger and stronger relationships within the community, Retreat Behavioral Health hopes to build a lasting connection and directly address the drug crisis in Connecticut. Jacqueline James aims to serve as that bridge to the organizations, government establishments, and local businesses that are in need of a quality resource like Retreat.
