Veterans Recovery Program for Mental Health & Substance Use

Veterans make great personal sacrifices that are difficult for civilians to truly comprehend. They spend long stretches of time separated from the ones they love doing dangerous, difficult work in service to our country. And those sacrifices can lead to lingering issues with mental health, PTSD, substance use, and other difficulties.

Many veterans find it difficult to get help for these issues because finding someone who really understands their unique struggles is so difficult. That’s why Healing Our Heroes Retreat Behavioral Health has built a dedicated veterans recovery program for mental health and substance abuse needs. We offer caring, compassionate treatment that takes into account the challenges that are unique to veterans and helps them overcome the problems that are holding them back from living their lives to their fullest potential.

This is higher than the general population and is considered to be a significant driver of suicidality in the veteran community.

Comprehensive Help and Healing for Veterans

Retreat Behavioral Health offers a comprehensive veterans recovery program in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. Our mission is to provide compassion, respect, and acceptance to those individuals who have served in our armed forces and are struggling with substance use and/or mental health disorders. These programs, which include services for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), consider veterans’ experiences and their most common challenges.

Retreat has worked with the veteran community for many years at each facility. In addition to specialized programs, we keep veterans on staff, so patients enjoy the added benefit of working with someone who understands their struggles firsthand.

From medically-monitored detox and residential rehabilitation to structured outpatient programs and holistic therapies, we provide a full continuum of care for treating substance use and PTSD in veterans. We have locations in Ephrata, PA, Palm Springs, FL, and New Haven, CT, and work with most commercial insurance companies, offering 24/7 admissions and complimentary transportation. Please note that our Connecticut facility only treats mental health disorders that are co-occurring with substance use disorders.

At Retreat, we pride ourselves in providing a compassionate and spiritual environment for veterans in recovery. We provide healing for veterans in a secure and comfortable setting overseen by a dedicated, caring, and professional staff, with treatment programs centered around veteran mental health needs.

Cutting-Edge Treatment & Mental Health Treatment for Veterans

Retreat Behavioral Health offers a comprehensive approach to mental health for veterans, including specific tracks that address common challenges for vets, like post-traumatic stress disorder and other trauma responses.

Individual and group therapy are cornerstones of our treatment programs, as are veteran-specific rehabilitation services and clinical modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). When it comes to EMDR and PTSD in veterans, for example, we can help individuals process trauma and get relief from their symptoms, all in a safe and supportive environment that is conducive to ongoing care.

In addition to EMDR, we are proud to offer additional cutting-edge treatments such as BrainsWay transcranial magnetic stimulation, a non-invasive and medication-free approach to treating depression. Brainsway is available at our inpatient mental health facilities only. Each of our specialized programs offers dynamic, comprehensive mental health support for veterans in need of care, with modalities that are based on common issues or traits that some patients share.
