Mental Health & Substance Use Treatment for Veterans & First Responders
We at Retreat have recognized the need for a program that can provide healing to veterans, first responders, and other emergency frontline workers. We have long been advocates of supporting these communities in every way possible and understand that they can be best helped by people who share their experiences. As such, we developed the Retreat Healing Our Heroes program to do exactly that. With the dedication of current and former first responders on staff, we are able to provide distinct treatment programs aimed at identifying and treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use in veterans and other emergency frontline personnel.

Our Programs are Tailored to the Specific Needs of Veterans & First Responders
Just as traditional PTSD and substance use treatment may not be suitable for these brave communities, there are distinct differences between veterans and various branches of first responders that require a tailored treatment approach. For that reason, Retreat is proud to offer designated Healing Our Heroes programs specifically designed for these different groups, with on-site staff and clinical modalities unique to their struggles.
Our program includes dedicated support for those struggling with the following:
- Grief and Loss
- Depression and Anxiety
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Trauma
- Suicidal Thoughts
- Substance Use Disorder
Veterans & First Responders are at Higher Risk for PTSD and Substance Use Disorders
Compared to civilian populations, individuals in the military and first response professions are at a higher risk of serious quality of life issues that include depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, suicidal thoughts, and substance use disorder. This is largely due to the trauma these individuals face in their professions, including the need to deal with unimaginable dangers on a regular basis.
Our focus is on providing a serene, private, and compassionate setting for the veteran and first responder community, with a dedicated and caring staff who work hard every day to ensure that our patients have all of their needs met.
This includes cutting-edge therapies for the treatment of depression and PTSD in first responders and former members of the military, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and BrainsWay deep transcranial magnetic stimulation (dTMS).
