Retreat Premier Addiction Centers’ “Recovery Radio” Shines Light on Major Topics in Addiction Treatment
In November, 2015, Retreat Premier Addiction Treatment Centers partnered with Philadelphia broadcasting veteran Steve Martorano to host Recovery Radio: an evening talk show focusing on major topics in the addiction treatment community.
Peter Schorr, Retreat’s Founder and CEO, seized upon the opportunity to develop the program. Both he and Martorano have a common vision. They are determined to provide a format where professionals in the substance abuse field can provide education for individuals and families struggling with addiction. “The purpose of the show is to educate and inform the public about the disease of addiction” said Mr. Schorr.
Mr. Schorr, alongside DASPOP President Deb Beck, were interviewed together on November 21 st for the program’s inaugural show. Since that inaugural show Recovery Radio has covered topics ranging from accessing treatment, pregnancy and addiction, to spirituality in recovery and the impact of substance abuse on the brain – to name just a few.
Mr. Schorr’s vision is to evolve the show as a premier platform for an ongoing industry dialogue – where substance abuse recovery champions can come to educate and enrich the wider community.
Recovery Radio airs on Saturdays from 6 to 7pm on 1210 WPHT, Philadelphia, AM radio.
