Retreat Behavioral Health Hires New Senior Director of Alumni and Community Engagement, Joi Honer [BA, CADC, CCDP]

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Ephrata, PA) — Acknowledging that wellness is a journey and that human connection is essential to growth, Retreat continues to invest in their alumni community. At Retreat, we believe in not only providing a strong foundation, but we are equally committed to providing a solid alumni connection, that allows our members to continue to build on that foundation.

“We are incredibly excited to bring Joi on board,” shares Ken Kosza, Retreat’s COO, in a statement. “Over the years, we have witnessed just how powerful a sense of community really can be. Oftentimes, when an individual returns home from treatment, the pressures of the outside world can hit fast and hard. That is why continuous support is so important. With the expansion of our alumni program, we aim to provide even greater support, diversify the resources we offer, and foster a wide-reaching community that supports our alumni.”

In her previous alumni engagement roles, Joi has passionately led, developed and supported alumni groups and increased engagement through niche programs such as family support and young adult support groups. She has expanded resources for alumni and the community through providing recovery lectures and workshops. She also developed and managed several successful recovery-based spiritual retreats. Joi also partnered with app developers CaredFor, to create and execute a recovery app designed to keep alumni engaged and connected to peers in recovery, twenty-four hours a day. Her goals are to utilize her experience to expand the resources, connections, services and opportunities for alumni and the community to grow in wellness and recovery.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Joi in the past and she’s been such a reliable, innovative, and fun person to work with,” shares Maggie Hunt, Retreat’s former Alumni Director now expanding into a marketing role. “It will be very exciting to see what incredible advancements she will make with our program. Very excited to see our alumni community evolve.”

“As the new Senior Director of Alumni and Community Engagement, I am both grateful and excited to be a part of the Retreat Behavioral Health team! My goal is to connect to the alumni and the recovery communities we serve by expanding resources for support, wellness and advocacy. As a person in long-term recovery, I celebrate this gift every day and I am truly looking forward to connecting with our Retreat community. The possibilities are endless!” shares Joi Honer, in a statement.
